Shannon’s connection with nature started at an early age, along with her journey with vision loss. With a degree and background in Environmental Education/Interpretation, she has encountered the physical and invisible barriers that prevent folks with disabilities from working and recreating in the outdoors. As someone who believes in the power of storytelling, Shannon began sharing her experiences navigating nature and vision loss on her website, The Blind Naturalist, in October 2021. Through her work with The Blind Naturalist and Unlimited Play, Shannon is committed to cultivating more inclusive spaces that foster community, empower individuals, and rekindle the human-nature relationship.
